Paediatric Occupational Therapy

Welcome

Our heart is to help children to be more successful in everyday tasks that have an impact on their functioning, their independence and confidence.

Paediatric Occupational Therapy

Childhood is a time for learning and developing new skills on the path to becoming independent, confident and skilled adults. This includes mastering activities at home such as dressing and eating; activities in the classroom such as attention and handwriting; and extra-curricular activities such as kicking a ball and riding a bike.

If a child struggles with these skills then, as specialists in paediatric occupational therapy, we can help identify the underlying causes of these difficulties and help them to reach their best potential.

Sensory Integration

We use Sensory Integration to help children who have difficulties with their sensory processing gross and fine motor skills. In doing do, we are able to treat conditions such as:  Hyper-sensitivityHypo-sensitivityDyspraxiaPostural ocularBilateral integration and sequencing dysfunction and poor Modulation of arousal level.

Sensory processing skills at play

A child's ability to efficiently use the sensory information received from the world around them and from their own bodies is the foundation for physical development, for learning, for emotional stability and social interaction.

Motor skills in action

A child's world is formed through play.  Adequate gross and fine motor skills allow play and help to promote independence, confidence and social skills.  These skills are built on at school, when a child learns to draw with purpose, write and cut with scissors.
